Notorious American jeweller Harry Winston purchased the diamond. Winston was among the most famous jewellers in the world, well-known in the glamorous Hollywood era.

The Jonker diamond became the first large diamond cut in United States.

And who better to wear diamonds and pay tribute to Harry than Marilyn Monroe, a big diamond fan.
